All commercial restroom partitions require ongoing preventative maintenance. The following guide provides a quick rundown of how best to clean each material type.

Powder Coated Public Restroom Partitions
Use a damp, soft cloth for routine cleaning. Use room temperature water and soap to remove any dirt or grime. We recommend that you keep a separate container of clear water on hand to rinse down your stall partitions after washing them thoroughly with soap. Avoid using chemical cleaners or any strong detergents. Use a sponge or soft cloth only, and wipe the partitions down after rinsing with clear water in order to prevent water marks and spots from forming.

Stainless Steel Partitions
If you choose to install your stainless steel restroom partitions yourself, you will notice that they ship with a protective coating. If you see any residue on the panels or doors after removing this coating, you should be able to remove it with mild soap and water or mineral spirits and water.

Also, if your contractors clean up after installation with any acid-based products, such as muriatic acid, be sure to apply clean water to any part of your toilet stall that gets splashed with these cleaners. Failure to do so will result in permanent marring of your stainless steel partition.

If your partitions feature a rough finish, always rub in the direction of the polish lines, and use the mildest cleaner you can. Never use any type of metal product on stainless steel. Instead, use soft cloths, plastic, sponges, or fibrous brushes. Rinse the partitions afterward with clear, fresh water and thoroughly dry them with a soft cloth.

Phenolic Partitions
Daily cleaning can be done with a non-abrasive cloth and mild cleaning solution. You can keep your restroom partitions looking new by occasionally applying furniture wax to them. Make sure you ventilate the room properly before doing so.

Solid Plastic Partitions
Solid plastic is very tough, but you should still use a soft, non-abrasive cloth for routine cleaning. Use a mild cleaning solution. Grease can be removed with a soft bristled brush if a cloth is not enough. Graffiti is best removed with industrial graffiti remover, but be careful not to use one too strong. Test the cleaner in an inconspicuous area to make sure that it will not mark your partition surface.

Do not use any type of abrasive pad on solid plastic because it will leave scratches. If your partitions are marred or deeply scratched, you can heat the surface by holding a flame about six inches from the scratch and softening the plastic enough to smooth it out. However, this will remove the textured finish and should only be done if the scratches are so visible that the surface is already badly marred.

Fusion™ Granite Toilet Partitions
Granite is tough, but you do have to watch what you clean it with. Believe it or not, one of the most effective substances is dish soap mixed with water. Do not use dish soap that contains dyes or animal fat because it can darken the granite and cause it to take on a yellow appearance. Daily cleaning can be done with mild soap and water.

If your partitions become scratched, we recommend that you contact a professional to repair them.

Do not use any cleaners that are highly acidic or extremely alkaline. Never use anything that contains ammonia because this can cause streaking on stone. If your partitions are vandalized with paint or ink, identify the base of the paint or ink and follow industry standard cleaning procedures for that substance. This information can be found readily through a quick online search.

Chrome Wall Brackets and Hinges
Avoid steel wool. Use only soap and water to clean spots. You can also use a good chrome polish to remove dirt or grime.
